Biography
Lisen Kjellmer is working as a university lecturer at Stockholm University’s Department of Special Education. She previously worked as a speech therapist at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, examining neuropsychiatric conditions in children. She has 20 years of clinical experience working with children with language difficulties. Her thesis, which she presented in 2006 at the University of Washington in Seattle, addressed social communicative behaviour of children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) in various classroom situations. Lisen is affiliated with the GNC and her research is associated with the Division of Speech and Language Pathology at the Karolinska Institute (KI). Her current research at the GNC focuses on the development of linguistic and communicative skills in children with autism spectrum disorders. She also supervises clinical projects aimed at using the method single-subject design for evaluation of treatment effect. These projects are being run at the Speech Therapy Clinic, the Karolinska University Hospital and at the Division of Speech and Language Pathology, KI.
