Biography
Maj-Britt Posserud is training for a clinical specialty in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and working as a researcher at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, Norway. She took her PhD in 2008 on the «Epidemiology of Autism Spectrum Disorders» at the University of Bergen with Professor Christopher Gillberg and Professor Astri Lundervold as supervisors. Her research focuses mainly on epidemiology of autism spectrum disorders and ADHD with a special focus on phenomenology, comorbid problems, gender differences and the overlap between problematic symptoms of neuropsychiatric problems versus normality.
Research Interest
She is currently involved in projects on autistic symptoms from childhood to adolescence in the Bergen Child Study, music therapy in autism spectrum disorders, the overlap between ADHD and emotional regulation difficulties in adults, social difficulties in children with ADHD, and imaging of children with autism spectrum disorders.
