Biography
Ola H. Skjeldal is a neurologist specialised in both adult and child neurology and habilitation. Since 1993, he is Professor of Paediatric Neurology at the University of Oslo. Throughout most of his career he has been working at the Department of Child Neurology in Oslo University Hospital. He has for several years been the head of this department. He has also been Head of Research at Drammen hospital.Ola H. Skjeldal is still working as a clinical child neurologist. He has been active as a researcher since the 1980s.
Research Interest
He has particularly been engaged in clinical research in the field of neurometabolic diseases, genetic syndromes and neurological development disorders. He heads a research group in Norway that is involved in Rett syndrome and autism. Through this group he is the supervisor of several PhD students. He has published 130 scientific articles. He has also published several textbooks.
