Biography
Magnus Ryde joined glÅ AB’s board of directors in August 2007 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He graduated from Linköping University in 1979 and Stanford University in 1980 with a MS in Industrial Engineering and later completed an Executive MBA at Stanford University in 1995. Mr. Ryde joined KLA Instruments (now KLA-Tencor) after graduation as Production Control Manager. During his tenure with KLA-Tencor, he managed manufacturing operations, marketing, European sales and service, global field service operations and worldwide sales, service and applications operations and was appointed a corporate officer in 1994. Mr. Ryde then joined Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) in 1998 as its President of North America. In 2000, he was appointed Chairman & CEO of FlexICs, a flexible display spin-out from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. In 2005 he was named CEO of Intematix Corp., a company specializing in phosphors for light emitting diodes for the solid state lighting market. Mr. Ryde has served on the boards of directors of Micronic Laser Systems AB, Strand Interconnect AB, Innolite AB and Effnet Holding AB of Sweden, as well as NextTech Solutions of the United States and Equipnet Ltd of Israel. Mr. Ryde is currently a partner and principal in Ryde Capital LLC of Sweden, Quan VC and Mars Capital Group LLC in the United States and serves as an advisory board member with Ubidyne GmbH of Germany. Mr. Ryde also serves on the boards of Ekahau Inc, Sol Voltaics AB and Kaiam Corp.
