Biography
Dr. Sue Mallett was appointed a Consultant Anesthetist at the Royal Free Hospital in London in 1990, following two years at the Pittsburgh University Medical Centre as a liver transplant fellow. She has had a career-long interest in liver transplantation, coagulation management and hemostasis and has published extensively with over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Mallett was awarded an MD in 2016 from University College London for her thesis: "Clinical utility of viscoelastic tests of coagulation in liver disease and surgery." She has been an invited lecturer at many international symposia over the last 20 years. She was a member of the European Society of Anesthesiology subcommittee for Transfusion and Hemostasis (2010-2016), a council member of the Liver Intensive Care Group of Europe (2011-2017) and a faculty member of the bi-annual Coagulation in Liver Disease Symposium since 2011. Dr. Mallett was Chair of the Royal Free Transfusion Committee for a number of years, a member of the London Transfusion Committee (2010-2016), and the Royal College of Anesthetists representative on the National Transfusion Committee, as well as the National Patient Blood Management Committee (2016-2017).
