Rolf A. Classon

Biography

Mr. Classon became Chairman of the Board of Hill-Rom in 2006. He served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Hill-Rom from May 2005 until March 2006 and as Vice Chairman of the Board from December 2003 until his election as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Classon served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Bayer Healthcare AG, the healthcare division of Bayer AG, a global healthcare and chemicals company, and, from 1995 to 2002, Mr. Classon served as President of Bayer Diagnostics. From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Classon was an Executive Vice President in charge of Bayer Diagnostics’ Worldwide Marketing, Sales and Service operations. From 1990 to 1991, Mr. Classon was President and Chief Operating Officer of Pharmacia Biosystems A.B. Prior to 1990, Mr. Classon served as President of Pharmacia Development Company Inc. and Pharmacia A.B.’s Hospital Products Division. Mr. Classon currently serves as a director of Fresenius Medical Care, Tecan Group,Catalent, Inc.and Perrigo Company plc, and was previously a director of Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., through January 2015, Millipore Corporation until 2010, and PharmaNet Development Group, Inc. until 2009. Mr. Classon has extensive experience in the health care industry, including positions in management and on the boards of several companies. His service as a senior officer in numerous international corporations brings an extensive breadth of knowledge and valuable insight to the Board.
