Biography
Phillip E. Himelstein is founder and co-managing partner of Hilan Capital, a venture capital firm based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a principal in more than a dozen investment partnerships focused in the real estate, health care and insurance service industries. Mr. Himelstein graduated Summa Cum Laude from Miami of Ohio with a B.A. in Economics, and went on to earn his LLB from Harvard Law School. Mr. Himelstein practiced law with the law firm of Cox Castle & Nicholson in Los Angeles from 1975 to 1992. Prior to founding Hilan Capital in 1998, Mr. Himelstein was founder and chairman of a nutritional products company. Mr. Himelstein was a founder of University High School, an independent college preparatory high school on the north side of Indianapolis, and is currently an emeritus director. In addition, Mr. Himelstein serves as a member of the board of directors for The Sage Group LLC, Palm Ventures Inc., and CalWest Assets Inc. In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board for the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center (IHTC), Mr. Himelstein serves as Chairman of the IHTC Finance Committee and as a member of the IHTC Executive Committee.
