Biography

Bengt is the founder of Isofol Medical and the head of surgical oncology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. He co-discovered the positive effects of Leucovorin on 5-FU that created the widely used combination treatment against colorectal cancer called 5-FU-LV. Bengt is also the founder of Carmel Pharma. Since 1996, he is a member of the scientific committee of the Swedish Cancer Society and he has been a member of its scientific committee for two terms. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Surgical Society, Swedish Surgical Society and the Swedish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
