Biography
Prof. Andrzej Cwirzen has PhD in Civil Engineer and 17 years of experience in concrete technology with special emphasis on nanotechnology, alternative binders, high and ultrahigh performance concretes. Currently he is a chair Professor of Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at the Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. He is RILEM senior member of Committee dealing with durability of Geopolymers. He is also a Committee member at the Transportation Research Board TRB in the USA in Committee on Concrete Materials and Placement Techniques- AFN40, American Nanosociety and American Concrete Institute. Prof Cwirzen was also workig in the Finnish Construction Industry as R&D manager working mostly on alkali activated binders (2 patents pending). Prof. Cwirzen is a reviewer for several top International Journals related to building materials. He has been visiting researcher/professor to several universities in Europe, Canada and Australia. He has participated in several scientific boards of international conferences and was invited speaker on number of events.
