Biography
Annelie Hedström’s main scientific interests are related to the development of resource efficient, robust and sustainable systems for municipal and domestic wastewater systems. Recent years the research focus has been on the development of sewer research within the research cluster Stormwater&Sewers. The research involves topics concerning inflow and infiltration in sewers, sewer renovation methods, integrated pipe systems and impacts on sewers from changing household practices and appliance of food waste disposers as well as water and energy efficient appliances in households. The initial research interest during the PhD studies involved small scale wastewater treatment with special focus on filter materials. This research field has been continued with e.g. modeling, experimental method development and field studies. This area has recently been broadened to cover advanced stormwater treatment. Annelie has also been involved in research projects related to the planning processes for implementation of more sustainable urban water system. Regularly Annelie contribute in projects related to evaluation of system solutions and development of decision support tools with multi criteria methods.
