Biography
After obtaining my B.Sc. (Hons.) degree from the University of Calcutta, INDIA in 2000, I joined to the Integrated PhD Programme at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, INDIA. Later at the same Institute, at the Chemical Biology Group, Department of Organic Chemistry, I studied as a Research Student with a project entitled ‘Synthesis, purification and characterization of novel poly-cationic surfactants. Study of their aggregation behavior in aqueous solution’, guided by Prof. Santanu Bhattacharya and Dr. Jayanta Haldar. In 2004, I commenced my PhD project at the Ian Wark Research Institute, University of South Australia, AUSTRALIA with Laureate Prof. John Ralston, Dr. Rossen Sedev and Dr. Jingfang Zhou. The title of my PhD thesis was ‘Design of Pyrimidine-based Photoresponsive Surfaces and Light Induced Wettability Control’. In 2008, I moved to Luleå University of Technology, SWEDEN to work as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow.
