Biography
Arash Kordestani is a senior lecturer and researcher at the division of business administration and Industrial Engineering. For the last few years, his main research theme has been shaped around sustainable supply chain management and public procurement. He has also investigated in similar fields like the supply chain of organic and locally produced foods, and published a report for LRF Norrbotten and contributed in the development of several research applications on intermodal transport. Coming from a marketing and engineering background, recently he has become interested in Big Data and its applications in logistics and marketing as well as different forecasting techniques and enrolled in specialized courses at the University of California, San Diego. He contributes to teaching and research constantly by supervising masters’ degree theses, and he acts as the main project leader in two research projects financed by Sweden’s innovation agency (Vinnova) and Handelsbank on public procurement. Since 2015, he has been leading a research project in cooperation with Linnaeus University on exploring social issues in public procurement.
