Biography
Anna-Lena Berg is a senior clinical nephrologist and associated professor working in Lund University Hospital, Lund, Sweden. During research on the lipid metabolism she observed the ACTH at pharmacological dosage has a considerable lipid-lowering effect. In one of the follow-up studies of the ACTH-specific lipid-lowering effect she unexpectedly also found an ACTH-specific antiproteinuric effect in patients with membranous nephropathy. She has published more than 20 articles on the effect and mechanisms of ACTH treatment in various disorders, and is also working on optimizing treatment regimes with ACTH.
Research Interest
Research interest is Nephrology, especially the topics close to glomerulonephritis. And research fields are also involving lipidmetabolism.
