Biography
Dr. Kristina Blom is the Founder, Owner, and Head of Research of Medibiome. The business idea behind Medibiome is based on the experience and knowledge of Dr. Blom, who has spent more than 20 years of her professional career developing novel methods for studying microorganisms and interacting host cells. At the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA, Gothenburg University Vaccine Research Centre (GUVAX), and AstraZeneca, Dr. Blom has worked to develop novel serological and molecular biology methods that enable the diagnosis and identification of bacteria or specific genes that cause infections, cancer or metabolic diseases. Dr. Blom also worked at Mölnlycke Health Care AB, initially as a senior scientist developing antimicrobial medical devices and methods to analyze biofilm activity and tissue response. She then continued at the company for another three years as Medical Director, during which she was responsible for a number of medical devices and their preclinical and clinical evaluations. During her time as Medical Director, Dr. Blom was a nominated expert in multiple working groups for standardized test methods to evaluate assays for antimicrobial and safety testing.

Her research interests lie in Healthcare and Medical Sciences. She is the Editor-in-Chief Member of many peer reviewed journals and her area of expertise credits her with many publications in national and international journals.
