Biography
Manglik is currently the first Stanford Distinguished Fellow and an Instructor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He received B.A. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis followed by an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University. His graduate research under the mentorship of Brian Kobilka focused on the structural and biophysical basis of G protein-coupled receptor signaling. Aashish has authored over two dozen papers in the GPCR field, is an inventor on five patents, and has co-founded two biotech companies focused on novel approaches in drug-discovery (Ab Initio Biotherapeutics and Epiodyne). He was recently awarded the 2016 NIH Director’s Early Independence Award, enabling him to establish a lab at Stanford focused on the molecular basis of transmembrane signaling and transport.
