Biography
Henning Beck-Nielsen is one of the leading experts in diabetes. He is Professor of diabetes at the Institute of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark, and Visiting Professor at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Aarhus University. He has been specializing in diabetes for the past 40 years, and his research has mainly focused on the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes.
Research Interest
Henning Beck-Nielsen holds several positions of trust, among others he is head of the Danish Diabetes Academy, chairman of the board of the Danish Centre for Strategic Research in Type 2 Diabetes – DD2 and chairman of the board and founder of the company UNEEG A/S. Furthermore, he was head of institute at the Institute of Clinical Research, University of Odense (1989-1998), Consultant Physician (1989-2017) and head of the Endocrine Research Unit (2000-2014) at the Department of Endocrinology, Odense University Hospital, head of the Danish Endocrine Society (1982-1986) and chairman of the Danish Medical Research Council (1998-2001).
