Biography

 Dr. Håkan Åström, Med. Dr. h.c., serves as the President at Travenol AB, Astra Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Kabi Pharmacia AB. Dr. Åström was the Managing Director at Pfizer Health AB since 1998. Dr. Åström served as the President at Pharmacia AB. He served as a Senior Vice President of Pharmacia AB from 1994 to 2003 and was responsible for its corporate strategy, corporate affairs. He served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Site Operations at Pharmacia LLC (alternate name, Pharmacia Corporation) since April 2002. Dr. Åström served as a Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations at Pharmacia & Upjohn LLC from November 1995 to March 2000 and also its Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Corporate Affairs from March 2000 to April 2002. In 1990, he served as an Executive Vice President of Kabi Pharmacia AB and in 1992, also served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. In 1984, Dr. Åström served at Astra Pharmaceuticals Ltd. UK, where he served as Managing Director until 1988. From 1979 to 1984, he served as the General Manager at Travenol (now owned by Baxter International Inc.) in Sweden. He served as Sales Manager and Marketing Director at AstraZeneca AB. He served as Dr. Åström began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1972, with the former Astra AB in Sweden where he served in various positions including Medical Representative, Sales Manager and Marketing Director. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Ferrosan A/S, Tubulus AB and Sanos A/S. He has been Chairman of Affibody Medical AB (publ) (alternate name, Affibody Holding AB) since April 2007. He has been the Chairman of PledPharma AB since 2011. He serves as Member of Board of Directors and Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Rhenman & Partners Asset Management AB. Dr. Åström serves as Chairman of the Board at MedCore AB. He has been Chairman of Ferrosan Holding A/S since 2005. Dr. Åström serves as a Director of Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm and Scandinavian Life Sciences Ventures AB. He has been a Director of Ferrosan A/S since 2005. He served as a Director of Monsanto Company since June 2000. He served as the Chairman of the Board at Orexo AB from 2003 to April 11, 2012. Dr. Åström served as the Chairman of ACO Hud AB. He served as Chairman of Biolipox AB and also served as its Director since 2003. He served as the Chairman of Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB from 2004 to April 27, 2010 and served as its from 2001 to April 27, 2010. Dr. Åström served as Chairman of Pharmacia AB since 1998. He served as Chairman of Biovitrum AB from 2004 to April 27, 2010. He served as the Chairman of Medicon Valley Capital. Dr. Åström served as the Chairman of the Board of Topotarget A/s from April 6, 2006 to April 20, 2010 and also as its Director since May 2004. Dr. Åström served as the Vice Chairman of Pharmacia Corporation. He served as the Vice Chairman of Active Biotech AB until January 15, 2003 and also as its Director since 2000. He served as a Director of InDex Pharmaceuticals AB. He served as Director of SLS Invest (a/k/a SLS Venture). He holds Honorary Doctorate in Medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy in Gothenburg University in 2003 and Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in 1972.
