Biography
Göran Gustafsson has worked at Acreo since 2005 and is the Deartment head for Printed Electronics. He got his PhD at Linköping University in 1990 in polymer electronics. After his PhD he spent about two years working with the Nobel laureate Professor Alan J Heeger, in his start-up company Uniax (which now is Dupont Displays). Gustafsson's research focus was organic light emitting diodes (OLED) and one of the accomplishments was to demonstrate the first “all plastic” LED (Nature 1992). After Uniax he joined Industrial Microelectronics Center (IMC) where he, among other things, was responsible for production multi-chip module (MCM) substrates for 486 micro-computers which was used in JAS Gripen. 1998 he was part of a group of three that started Thin Film Electronics (TFE) that pioneered in the development of printed memories and smart labels. At TFE he served as the R&D manager and was instrumental in establishing a contract with Intel and the expansion of the company to around 75 employees in Linköping, Oslo and Albuquerque.
