Biography
Dr. Melman is a psychiatrist in Seattle specializing in brain stimulation therapies for treatment-resistant depression. He received his MD degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, had 2 years of internal medicine residency at Virginia Mason Hospital and then completed his psychiatry residency and chief residency at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute.Dr. Melman is a member of the Swedish Neuroscience Institute (SNI), American Psychiatric Association, Washington State Psychiatric Association, Clinical TMS Society as well as International Society for ECT and Neurostimulation.
Research Interest
Dr. Melman’s professional goal is to study and provide a range of neurostimulation treatment options, including ECT, TMS, VNS and DBS, for psychiatric disorders that have not responded to medications and psychotherapy.
