Biography
Johan Edman, professor of history and deputy director of SoRAD, disputed in 2004 a dissertation on the retardation of alcohol addicts in Sweden in the latter twentieth century. Surveys of social exclusion, marginalization and the role of social welfare (mainly drug addiction) in the Swedish welfare state of the 20th century have been the focus of his research. Edman has recently completed a research project on government governance of Swedish drug addiction in the years 1960-2000 .
