Biography
Todd M. Guyette with a clinical practice that spans the range of upper extremity pathology, he had advanced training and interest in the newest techniques for hand and wrist trauma, arthritis of the upper extremity, nerve compression syndromes including carpal tunnel, tumors around the hand and arm, and repetitive stress injuries. The trend is towards less invasive procedures to allow more rapid return to work, sports, and daily activities. Surgery is just one option; many of these diagnoses can be successfully managed without surgery with a coordinated approach including therapy, medications, and patient education. Even though his focus is on the upper extremity pathology, it is important to recognize that these problems commonly affect the whole patient - their work, recreational activities, and even simple daily tasks - and their treatment must be undertaken in that context. He completed his education of Medical School from Harvard Medical School in 1997, Residency from Hospital for Special Surgery, New York Orthopedic Surgery Residency and Fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery from Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore and Curtis National Hand Center/Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore Hand and Microvascular Surgery Fellowship. He is a member of Professional Associations like Fellow, American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons; Member, American Society for Surgery of the Hand; Member, Washington State Medical Association. He is also certified Board member of American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Surgery, Hand.
