Biography
Dr. Mattar is a board-certified surgeon who has committed his career to helping patients with weight-related problems that result from metabolic dysfunction. He derives great satisfaction in witnessing the profound transformation that these deserving patients undergo and feels blessed to be in such a rewarding profession. Dr. Mattar is also engaged in promoting the interests of patients and fellow physicians through his activities within national societies. He completed his education from Cairo University, Medical School in MD in the year 1983, Vanderbilt University, Residency in General Surgery in 2000, Emory University, Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery in 2002. He is also member of Professional Associations like President-elect, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons; Secretary Treasurer, Fellowhsip Council.
Research Interest
His research areas of interests are gastric banding, gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, obesity surgery, weight loss and bariatric surgery.
