Biomarkers for aggressive prostate cancer Markers need to find "dangerous" prostate cancer in an early, vulnerable stage. In addition, knowledge about why some tumors become "dangerous" are needed so that new treatments can be developed. We use proteomics, metabolomics and genomics methods for blood and tissue studies where we are looking for tumor markers for prostate cancer. We want to develop sensitive methods to detect tumors and to predict how dangerous they are at an early stage of the disease, so that patients can get the right treatment at a vulnerable stage. In addition, these markers can hopefully help us develop new treatment methods for prostate cancer.
