Research Interest
My research is currently focused on standards-based interactions between organisations, primarily within a business-to-business setting. A "standard" in this case is a set of guidelines for how to structure and organise documents and information to be sent between organisations. So far, a lot of the focus in both research and practice has been on the enabling technology, but there are many more aspects to be considered if inter-actions and inter-operability between organisations and their systems are to be successful. People must know how and why to use technology if the investment made is to pay off and bring additional value. My focus is hence not on the technical aspects per se, but on how the organisations in questions implement and use the standards and the standards-based communication. More on the research will eventually be available through a link to the left of the page.
