Biography
Dr. Xesus Abalo is affiliated to Department of Medical Sciences at Uppsala Biomedical Cente, Sweden. Currently providing services as Researcher. Authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and presented works at many national and International conferences. Contributions from his work have acclaimed recognition from honourable subject experts around the world. Actively associated with different societies and academies. His academic career is decorated with several reputed awards and funding. He got his PhD at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Galicia-Spain) studiyng the lamprey CNS development. After that, got a postdoc position at the Karolinska Institute studiyng the basal ganglia connections related to locomotion, also in lampreys. In 2010 he joined Dan's lab where he worked on the evolution of vertebrate vision using zebrafish as a model.
