Research Interest
Sandeep Singh Arora, M.B.B.S., is an abdominal imager and interventionist with expertise in cross-sectional imaging, both CT and MRI, ultrasound including ob-gyn, fluoroscopy and image-guided procedures. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India. He completed a residency in Radiology at the University of Louisville Hospital and fellowships in Abdominal Imaging and Research at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Arora joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2015. He is currently Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences and Assistant Professor of Urologic Surgery. He is a member for the Radiological Society of North America, Society of Abdominal Radiology and the American Roentgen Ray Society. His ongoing research includes: early detection of prostate cancer, abdomino-pelvic and vascular applications of therapeutic ultrasound and tumor immunity imaging. He is the primary Vanderbilt radiologist on a prostate sono-ablation clinical trial- Evaluation of the TULSA-PRO MRI-Guided Transurethral Ultrasound Prostate Ablation Device in Patients with Localized Prostate Cancer: a Prospective, Single-Arm, Pivotal Clinical Study. He is also a co-investigator on a liver ultrasound ablation NIH grant- Fast Volumetric Treatment Using Multi-Focus Insonation and Thermal Amplification (1R21EB21012-01A1 PI: Caskey).
