Research Interest
Dr. Warren Andersen's research program seeks to explain how modifiable risk factors and genetic variants influence the molecular aspects of cancer risk. Her research program builds upon her previous training. She received her B.S. in genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later pursued a M.S. and Ph.D. in population health from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. In 2013, she joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a postdoctoral research fellow in the R25 Molecular and Genetic Epidemiology of Cancer (MAGEC) training program. Dr. Warren Andersen is currently funded by a K99 Pathway to Independence Career Development Award to investigate the relations among circulating vitamin D biomarkers, genetic variants, and colorectal cancer tumor characteristics using a trans-ethnic approach. In addition, Dr. Warren Andersen researches the associations between adiposity and cancer risk and how precision medicine approaches can be applied to increase smoking cessation and reduce lung cancer risk.
