Biography
Dr. Georg Fischer is a natural scientist. His roots are in medicine – he specialized in pharmacology after finishing his studies, worked as an assistant at the Institute for Pharmacology and completed his residency for pharmacology and toxicology. Following this, he was first employed as a medical resident and then a resident physician at Mürzzuschlag state hospital in Austria in 1990. He turned to the pharmaceutical industry in 1992, starting work at Eli Lilly in the area of clinical research. Three years later, he moved to Wyeth-Lederle Pharma, where he held several positions: Medical Director, Head of Marketing and Sales and finally Head of the Business Development Austria & CEE division. After a total of seven years, he came to AOP Orphan in 2002, where he is now the board member responsible for business development. Dr. Georg Fischer is a natural scientist.
