André J. Mueller

Biography

Mr. André J. Mueller is Private Investor and Business Consultant. Mr. Mueller served as the Head of Finance at Actelion Ltd. until April 2009. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Actelion Ltd. until 2003 and served as its Senior Vice President and Head of Strategic Development. Mr. Mueller has extensive experience in the development of young biotech companies, especially in Switzerland. He was founding partner of Euroventures-Genevest SA, a pioneering VC organisation in Switzerland. He served as Process Engineer with CIBA Ltd., after completion of university, management positions in planning and finance at Sandoz (now, Novartis) in Switzerland. In 1981, he became Vice President of Finance and Administration and subsequently, was named the first Chief Financial Officer of Biogen, where he was responsible for several financing rounds including Biogen's IPO. Mr. Mueller co-founded Genevest venture capital group. In 1985, he became a Founding Partner and was subsequently named Director of Investments of Genevest. He served as a Member of the Management Consulting Practice of Deloitte and Touche from 1993 to 1997. He served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Arpida Ltd. He served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Addex Therapeutics Ltd. (formerly known as Addex Pharmaceuticals Ltd) until June 27, 2014. He served as an Executive Chairman of the Board of Addex Therapeutics Ltd. until August 15, 2011. He served as the Chairman of Cerenis Therapeutics Holding SA (formerly Cerenis Therapeutics SA). He served as a Vice Chairman of Actelion Ltd., from April 2006 to April 24, 2009. He serves as a Director of Kanyos Bio, Inc. He serves as an Independent Director of Anokion SA. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of TopoTarget Switzerland S.A., and Apoxis SA. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Synthes Inc. (formerly, Synthes-stratec Inc.) since 1999. He served as a Director of Sensimed AG until August 25, 2015. He served as a Director of Addex Therapeutics Ltd. from 2007 to June 27, 2014. He served as Director of Actelion Ltd. until April 24, 2009. Mr. Mueller is a Chartered Chemical Engineer from Superior Technical College Geneva in 1964. He holds a Degree in Chemical Engineering from Superior Technical College (Geneva) and an MBA from the University of Geneva, INSEAD Fontainbleau in 1971, Lincenciate in Business Economics from University of Geneva in 1970.
