Biography
Dr. Martine Clozel serves as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice-President of Idorsia Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Actelion Ltd. Dr. Clozel is a Scientific Expert, Leader Drug Discovery Projects, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. She is the Co-Founder of Actelion Ltd in 1997 and has been its Senior Vice President since 1997. She has been Chief Scientific Officer of Actelion Ltd since April 2009 and also served as its Member of the Management Board. She served as Head of Drug Discovery Pharmacology & Preclinical Development at Actelion Ltd from 1997 to 2009. She is the Founder, Senior Vice President, Head of Drug Discovery Pharmacology & Preclinical Development and Chief Scientific Officer at Actelion Pharmaceuticals US, Inc., a subsidiary of Actelion Ltd. Her group has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers in the fields of endothelial function, endothelin and endothelin receptor antagonists. In 1997, she was awarded the Hoffmann-La Roche Research Prize for her achievements in the field of endothelin research. Dr. Clozel has an MD degree from University of Nancy, France and received further training in physiology and pharmacology at McGill University, Montreal and at the University of California, San Francisco.
