Biography
Vladimir R. Muzykantov, MD, Ph.D., is a Professor and Vice-Chair of Department Pharmacology of the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He obtained his MD degree from the First Moscow Medical School (Internal Medicine, 1980) and Ph.D. from Russian National Cardiology Research Center in Moscow (Biochemistry, 1985). Muzykantov conducts research in targeted drug delivery and directs Center for Translational Targeted Therapeutics and Nanomedicine at PENN. He has published more than 200 papers and chapters. Muzykantov holds a portfolio of intellectual property including several patents and disclosures. He has been elected as a co-Chair of the Gordon Research Conference on Drug Carriers (2012), and has been a recipient of the Established Investigator Award (1996) and Bugher Stroke Award (2000) from the American Heart Association.
