Biography
Thomas Burckhardt studied at the universities of Basel, Geneva and Munich and was awarded his doctorate in 1978 in Basel. Since 1975, he is licensed attorney and in 1979, he received a Master of Law (LL.M.) at Harvard Law School (Cambridge, Massachusetts, US). Since 1980, he is practicing as lawyer in Zurich and Basel and since 1987, he is an associate at Simonius Pfrommer & Partner. Thomas Burckhardt further is Honorary Consul-General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Basel. Other important Board memberships: Viking River Cruises AG, MFC Beteiligungs AG and Stiftung FOCUS Basel.
