Biography
Laurence Goffin is a molecular immunologist with over 12 post-doctoral years in both academia and pharmaceutical industry in Switzerland and Australia. ​ Before joining Calypso Biotech, Laurence was a principal scientist in the Biologics and Immunology platform at Merck-Serono. During 4 years, she initiated and supervised several discovery programs, proposing biologics and small molecules to target autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. She also established scientific collaborations and evaluated in-licensing programs. ​ Laurence started her carrier in the academic environment, building up her expertise in the mechanistic analysis of human disorders. Indeed, she studied, at the molecular level, the development of several pathologies, such as unfolded protein mediated-diseases at the University of Melbourne, skin cancer at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Epalinges and fibrotic diseases at the Hospital in Geneva. ​ Laurence holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She is author of 9 peer-reviewed original articles and reviews.
