Laurie Johansen

Biography

Ms. Laurie I. Johansen is the Founder and General Partner at Caris, Ltd. Prior to this, Ms. Johansen served for nine years as a Member of the Executive Management Team of AdvancePCS. From 2001 to 2004, she was the Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of AdvancePCS. In addition, she was responsible for securities regulatory compliance, including Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives, and the legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Prior to becoming a Corporate Secretary, Ms. Johansen served as a Senior Vice President, Office of the Chief Executive Officer, as well as General Counsel at AdvancePCS. Prior to this, she worked in the corporate and securities group of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld for five years. Ms. Johansen focused on mergers and acquisitions, public equity and debt financing, and general corporate legal and compliance services. She served as Attorney of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. She served as Vice President and Secretary of Advancepcs Research LLC. She served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Secretary at CaremarkPCS, LLC. She serves as Vice Chairman at Miraca Life Sciences, Inc. Ms. Johansen also served as a Vice Chairman at Caris Life Sciences until February 2012. She serves as a Director of Caris Life Sciences, Inc. She served as a Director of Advancepcs Research LLC. Ms. Johansen earned her Business Administration degree as well as a Law degree from The University of Texas.
