Biography
Mr. Michael Arnold, also known as Mike, BSc Eng (Mining Geology), B Compt (Hons), CA (SA), has been Group Managing Director at Consol Glass (Pty) Ltd. and Consol Plastics since July 2002. Mr. Arnold has been Consultant at African Rainbow Minerals Limited (formerly Anglovaal Mining Limited) since December 10, 2017 and served as its Finance Director from August 1, 2009 to December 10, 2017. His working career started in the mining industry in 1980 when he was employed as a geologist with the Anglo American Group. He served as the Chief Financial Officer at African Rainbow Minerals Ltd since 2008. Mr. Arnold served as an Acting Chief Financial Officer of African Rainbow Minerals Ltd. He served as a Member of Management Team of Avi Ltd. He served as a Director of Avgold Ltd. He began his career as a Mining geologist with the Anglo American Corporation before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1987. Mr. Arnold holds a Bachelor of Science degree: Engineering (Mining Geology) obtained in 1979 from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and he also completed an Honours Degree in Accountancy at the University of South Africa.
