Biography

Mr. Janmejay R. Vyas, M.D., B.Sc.(Chem.), B.Sc. (Tech) serves as Managing Director at Dishman Carbogen Amcis Limited. Mr. Vyas has been Managing Director at Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Limited since March 1, 2005. He has been an Executive Director at Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Limited since March 1, 2005. Mr. Vyas is the Founder of Dishman Europe Ltd. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He heads the R&D and production activities over 29 years and is also engaged in marketing of in-house technologies and products, research and production capabilities domestically and internationally. He has been managing marketing and globalisation activities since more than 30 years and has successfully negotiated several contract research proposals with clients. He has entered into a long-term manufacturing and supply contract with several companies in Japan, USA and Europe. He served as a Consultant to various pharmaceutical companies from 1974 to 1983. In 1987, he set-up the Naroda facility. Based on his understanding of the potential international outsourcing opportunity developing in the global pharmaceutical industry, he initiated the expansion at Bavla in 1996. His emphasis on quality and adhering to international manufacturing standards ensured that Bavla facility was set-up and developed as per internationally accepted standards. He has been engaged in acquisition of several research-oriented companies, including Carbogen Amcis and Vitamin D business in Netherlands. He has been the Chairman of Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Limited since June 1, 2009. Mr. Vyas serves as Chairman at Dishman Carbogen Amcis Limited. He serves as a Director of Schutz Dishman Biotech Ltd., B. R. Laboratories Ltd., Bhadra Raj Holdings Pvt. Ltd., Adiman Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Dishman Europe Ltd., Dishman USA Inc., Dishman International Trade (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Dishman FZE, Dishman Switzerland Ltd., Dishman Infrastructure Ltd., Dishman Pharma Solutions Ltd., Carbogen Amcis AG and Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. He has been felicitated with the 'Bharatiya Udyog Ratan Award' in September 2000 by the Indian Economic Development & Research Association, New Delhi; the 'Outstanding Entrepreneur' 1999 by the Federation of Gujarat Industries, Baroda; and the 'AMA-Atlas Dye-chem Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2008' by Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), Ahmedabad. Mr. Vyas has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad and a bachelor's degree in Pharma & Fine Chemical Technology from the UDCT, Mumbai.
