Biography
DIETER SCHAPFEL, MD, Chief Medical Director for Enzo Clinical Labs, has been employed with the Company since 2012, initially as a consulting pathologist. Dr. Schapfel served as Medical Director of Pathology at Southside Hospital – North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System from 2006 to 2012. Dr. Schapfel served as a staff pathologist at Huntington Hospital from January 2004 to June 2006. Dr. Schapfel served as Director of Pathology and Medical Affairs and the College of American Pathologists Director of Pathology, Dublin, Ireland and Farmingdale, NY for Icon Laboratories from February 2002 to October 2003. Dr. Schapfel is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, College of Medicine, where he also served his residency. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Pathology with certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and is also a diplomat of The National Board of Medical Examiners.
