Biography
Carlos was born in Aracaju, Brazil, in September 1989. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil) and at the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INPT, France), where he obtained his Diploma and M.Sc. degree, respectively. Carlos gained further practical experience in control systems and power electronics during his internships at ABB Corporate Research (Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland), Siemens AG (Karlsruhe, Germany) and CERN (Meyrin, Switzerland). In March 2013, Carlos enrolled in a M.Sc. research-based program in Materials Science and Engineering at UFSC. As a result, he worked for 2 years at the Thin Films and Surfaces Laboratory (LFFS), where he gained knowledge and consolidated his interest in micro- and nanofabrication, device physics, deposition and characterization of materials. In February 2015, Carlos joined the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab (MSRL) as a PhD student.
