Franziska Ullrich

Biography

Franziska was born in Hannover, Germany, in March 1987. She completed her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich and subsequently consolidated her interest in robotics with completing her M.Sc. in Robotics, Systems and Control. In 2010 she was involved in a research project at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics, Australia, where she deepened her knowledge in field and space robotics. Franziska gained further practical experience during her internships at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås, Sweden and at MTU Maintenance in Zhuhai, P.R. China. Franziska joined the MSRL in January 2012 and completed her doctoral studies in 2016. Her research focuses on robot-assisted minimally invasive ophthalmic interventions. She continues her interest in robotics in the field of ophthalmology as a post-doc and CEO of the MSRL spinoff Ophthorobotics
