Biography
Qianwen Chao was born in Xi’an, China, in 1989. She completed B.S. degree in computer science and technology from Xidian University in 2011. Following that, she earned Ph. D. in Computer Science from the state key lab of Computer Aided Design and Computer Graphics (CAD&CG) at Zhejiang University (China) in 2016. During this period, she also worked at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a research assistant in 2015. Currently she is a lecturer at Xidian University in China and joined the Multi-scale robotics Lab at ETH Zurich as a visiting postdoc in 2017. Her research interests are in broad, interdisciplinary areas of graphics/animation, especially in machine learning techniques for data-driven crowd animation, cloth animation, and the motion control for swarm micro-robotics. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, postdoc science foundation, and CAD&CG lab at Zhejiang University. She is the recipient of Lu Zengyong CAD&CG High Tech Award 2017.
