Biography
Hongri (Richard) Gu was born in Changchun, China in 1990. He studied mechatronic engineering at Zhejiang University from 2009 to 2014. During his bachelor program, he joined Young Scientist Exchange Program(YSEP) in Tokyo Institute of Technology as an exchange student focusing on microfabrication and microhydraulic systems from 2012-2014. Later he started his master program in micro and nano system at ETH Zurich and finished at 2016. He wrote his master thesis on complex pumping using active magnetic particles. His research interests include complex system design and fabrication, microfluidic systems and swarm microrobotics. In January 2017, he joined MSRL as a PhD student.
