Biography
Edouard Croufer was born on May 3rd, 1947 in Spa, Belgium. He has a M.S. in Engineering in Physics from the University of Liège (Belgium) and an M.M.S. from University of Waterloo Canada and an Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. Edouard Croufer has more than 30 years of experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry holding senior positions. In 1971, Mr Croufer was appointed research engineer at Centre Recherche Metallurgique in Liège, Belgium. From 1973 until 1976 he then became professor of data processing at Universidade de Joinville Santa Catarina in Brazil. From 1976 until 1993, Edouard Croufer held various international positions at Exxon Chemical. Among others, he was President Exxon Chemical Belgium and Netherlands. Edouard Croufer was member of UCBs Executive Committee from 1993 until 2004 where he was Director General for the Chemical Sector and then Director General for the Pharma Sector. He then proceeded to become Global Director in charge of the global expansion of the Chemical and Health Care practice of Arthur D. Little until 2011. Edouard Croufer has extensive experience as member of supervisory boards of various corporations in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector. He already served as member of Grünenthal’s advisory board from 2004 until 2008. In terms of functional focus, Edouard Croufer has been engaged extensively in Biopharmaceuticals. He is particularly experienced in dealing with business strategy, organization design, technology and innovation management and operational excellence.
