Biography
The West African Power Pool (WAPP) organization was established by the highest decision making body of ECOWAS, the Authority of Heads of State and Government of Member States, as a mechanism and institutional framework for integrating the national power systems of ECOWAS member countries. Among the infrastructure sub-programs to be developed by the WAPP, there is the electrical interconnection between Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea (CLSG). This interconnection project is part of the roadmap of the WAPP to eliminate power shortfalls in these countries by building a transmission line of 225 kV of about 1299 km connecting these four countries. In conformity with the above mentioned a Special Purpose Company (SPC) called "TRANSCO CLSG" has been created for this purpose under the additional act, to finance, build, operate, maintain and develop this transmission line. As the National Environmental Assistant - sierra Leone my key responsibilities are: • Ensure that the ESMP is in compliance with national legislature and donor requirements, especially World Bank safeguard policies and world bank group Environmental, Health and Safety guideline (EHSG). • Supervise the preparation and implementation of:  ESMP construction  Emergency preparedness plan  Traffic management plan  Closure and rehabilitation plan  Reforestation plan  Plan for employment  Community relations plan
