Biography
Mr. Eric Cornut served as an Interim Director General of The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations. since September 2016 until April 2017. Mr. Cornut is an Independent Consultant based in Basel, Switzerland. Mr. Cornut served as Chief Ethics, Compliance and Policy Officer of Novartis AG from August 2014 to 2016. In this role, Mr. Cornut led the Integrity & Compliance and the Public Affairs functions where he was responsible for strengthening compliance and public policy for Novartis. Previously, he served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Novartis Pharmaceuticals from 2012 to 2014 where he was responsible for Global Product Strategy and Commercialization. He has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical management experience. He also successfully brought innovative therapies in dermatology and heart failure to patients. Earlier, he led Pharma Region Europe for 6 years where he oversaw the operations of affiliates in 35 countries with approximately 9,000 associates. Under his leadership, his teams successfully launched 13 new products and achieved more than USD 7 billion in sales despite the challenging economic situation in Europe. He held Various leadership positions in the legal department from 1989 to 1995. He began his career at Novartis predecessor company, Ciba-Geigy, in 1989 and played a key role in the global merger of Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz in 1996. He served as Assistant to the Head of the Pharma ivision, CIBA-Geigy AG (today part of Novartis following merger with Sandoz in 1996) from 1993 to 1996. He served as Head of International Operations Integration at Novartis Pharma AG from 1996 to 1997, Managing Director from 1997 to 1999 and Head of Pharma, Europe at Novartis Pharma AG from 2007 to 2012.
