James K. Amoah

Biography

James Amoah has a deep passion for seeing the delivery of success and building strong teams. For the past four years, he has served as vice president of operations management for CareFusion Corporation, honing his expertise in health care services, administration and research. Mr. Amoah is a transformational senior leader with a compelling vision of future and lead-by-example approach, who creates strategic alliances with organization leaders to effectively align with and support key business initiatives. Throughout his 16 years of garnered business administration, Mr. Amoah has built up his expertise in supply chain management, business planning, sourcing, public speaking, strong customer service, quality and compliance, and supply vendor management. During the work-week he draws upon these skills while managing standard cost delivery, people, processes and equipment, ensuring they are on track with key projects, conducting plant and operation reviews, and finding objects to set yearly standards to. He also ensures that business is moving towards the financial and strategic goals, develops future strategy, and deals with suppliers in regular reviews. Mr. Amoah has heavy global operations and end-to-end supply chain management experience. He attributes his success to his ability to be customer focused, making processes simple and helping everyone involved in projects to achieve their goals. He also attributes it to his strong business partnering. Initially, he became involved in his profession because he was always interested in health care, and worked for Johnson and Johnson for 14 years. He was interested in consumer and healthy products, compliance, skin care products and lifestyle, and expanded into the regulated and pharmaceutical areas. He was also interested in medical devices, and saw the opportunity to make a change and bring about the best practices learnt in an FMCG environment. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacology from the University of Liverpool, he followed it up with a Master’s degree in operational research from Lancaster University. In five years, Mr. Amoah plans to become the chief operations officer of a regional company, or the chief executive officer in a start up requiring solid operations and business acumen. He would also like to work with new technology utilizing Big Data and automation, and he is interested in the use of cloud technologies.
