Biography
I am working in the Cognitive Computing & Industry Solutions department at IBM Research Zurich as a Research Staff Member. My main focus presently is to utilize cognitive technologies in real world application scenarios. Until 2015 I worked on topics in the area of (embedded) security solutions. Examples for this was work related to the marketing of JCOP, ZTIC, MoteRunner and Secure Enterprise Desktop after initial development work on the OpenCardFramework and JCOP. Before joining IBM in 1997, I've been a member of Project GeneSys, in the Operating Systems group at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. This is also where I obtained MSc and PhD in Computer Science in 1994 and 1997, respectively.
