Biography
Paul Hurley became a research staff member in 2003 after originally joining IBM Research – Zurich as a post-doctoral research fellow. He is currently the research and technical lead of a team in cognitive signal processing or “imaging of things”. His group’s work focuses on the holistic analysis of sensor data applications such as medical imaging (in particular ultrasound and positron emission tomography), radio astronomy, and audio. Dr. Hurley holds a PhD in Communication Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) Lausanne (2001), and an MSc in Mathematical and Computer Science from the National University of Ireland in Galway (1995).
