Biography

I am a research staff member in the Cognitive Computing and Industry Solutions Department at IBM Research in Zurich. I received a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from ETH Zurich in 2010, and a Doctor of Sciences from the Department of Management, Technology and Economics, ETH Zurich, in 2013 for my thesis on Convex Optimization in Supply Chain Management. The main focus of my research is on optimization & simulation of stochastic supply networks. This research is driven by the goal to improve and extend IBM MESO (Multi-Echelon Simulation & Optimization), which is developed in our group. Furthermore, I am working on Approximate Dynamic Progamming, Simulation Optimization and Robust Optimization as well as applications in Inventory & Supply Chain Management, Forecasting and other areas.
