Biography
From 1973 to 1978, Werner Hartmann studied mathematics at the University of Zurich, followed up the topic of computational complexity and completed the didactic training as a high school teacher. From 1983 to 2010 he taught at the Kantonsschule Baden mathematics. As a second stand, he was active in the academic world.
Research Interest
At the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, he and Prof. Dr. Jürg Nievergelt introduced computer science and didactics training . In 2004 he was appointed titular professor at ETH Zurichappointed. One year later he moved to the Pedagogical University of Bern, where he headed the media education department until the end of 2012. Werner Hartmann is a co-author of various textbooks, which explain basic concepts of computer science in a comprehensible manner. In addition to his freelance work, he is now a freelancer for the "Teaching and learning with digital media" department at the Schwyz Educational University.
