Biography
Andrea Danani was born in Lausanne on 16 December 1962. He has dual Swiss and Italian nationality. Attitude: Lugano (CH). Graduates in Physics at the Politecnico di Zurigo in 1987 with a thesis on the decay of Bosone Z0 in 4 fermions with Prof. Zoltan Kunszt. He then attended the Ph.D. in the International School of Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste where he obtained his PhD in theoretical physics in 1992 with a thesis on models for superconductivity at high temperatures with Prof. Mario Rasetti. The postdoctoral periods took place at the Department of Physics of the Politecnico di Torino and the Universities of Milan and Genoa. He has worked at Manno CSCS as a researcher and organizing C3 summer scientific campuses for Swiss mature schoolteachers. After 4 years of physics teaching at Mendrisio High School, he moved to SUPSI in 2001 and became a professor in 2006. He has acquired and directed several research projects, especially in the numerical simulation of nanocomposites and drug delivery systems. From 2010 to 2012 he was responsible for research at the Physics Laboratory and Mathematics applied in Engineering to DTI. Since 2005, he has taught the Master Alari at the USI in Lugano.
